HP, Tower cut Java deal

See news.com for the latest in the Java clone wars. It's become increasingly obvious that the major computer vendors, having been beholden to one monopoly supplier (MSFT) for so long, have little intention of allowing a new one in the form of SUNW-as-the-one-true-Java to take hold. I know many Java purists keep ignoring this point, but when HP, Compaq, Data General, IBM, etc. keep hedging their bets this way it doesn't argue for an easy road ahead for SUNW in trying to turn Java into a source of profits.
