The battle heats up: Hummingbird Extends Offer For PC DOCS To May 10 TORONTO (Dow Jones)--Hummingbird Communications Ltd. (HUMC) said it has extended its offer for all the shares of PC DOCS Group International Inc. (DOCS) to May 10. In a press release, the previous expiry date of the offer wasn't disclosed. The company said the extension will allow both companies to respond to the competing takeover offer for PC DOCS made by Open Text Corp. (OTEX). As reported, Open Text is offering C$8.50 a share for PC DOCS. Hummingbird offered one-third of a share for each share of PC DOCS. Hummingbird provides enterprise connectivity software. PC DOCS makes document and database-management software. Open Text, Waterloo, Ont., provides intranet software technology. Hummingbird Communications Ltd. (HUMC) said the previous expiry date for its takeover offer for PC DOCS Group International Inc. (DOCS) was Tuesday. The offer has been extended to May 10.
