Options Activity in MSFT - II

Now 6,700 of the MSFT Jun 70 puts have traded. So counting yesterday and today, more than 10,500 of these puts have traded. And the open interest before that was only 522. Their pricing is exactly correct based on the current volatility of the stock. Thus, they are not trading at a premium to their fair value which would have been a negative indication.

Please keep in mind that activity in just one put does not indicate anything substantial. It could just be a mutual fund protecting its million shares of MSFT by buying 10,000 puts. It's just an interesting observation.

>Why have nearly 8500 contracts traded in just a day and 2 hours ?

As I know MSFT sells PUT options regularly. So, it maybe from MSFT.

"[put trading] could ... be ... manipulation by market makers..."

could you explain further what you mean?
