Its funny I was just thinking this thread is finally becoming useful with this debate. While James' posts have been centered on servers this is SUN's BREAD AND BUTTER!! While java and jini are great technology they are not money makers, at least not yet. I would think any SUN investor would be very interested in this debate.

[James Nicoll: would you please start your own thread entitled "The End of Proprietary Iron on the Desktop?" instead of cluttering up this once useful thread with monotonously repetitve posts? I'm sure you'll attract thousands of adherents who want to hear your empty litany repeated over and over again.]

I agree. James should start his own thread. His posts are very monotonous.

[As to thread regulars, I don't get it. Why do you get into long exchanges with a guy like this, who has nothing to say but says it a thousand times, occluding any real purpose the thread might have and turning it into a Yahoo-grade thread?]

James tells me I should limit my conversations to the Coffee Shop because he claims that I am a housewife.

If he gets away with putting someone down because he says that person is a housewife, then, who might he attack next? A multi-colored Yurt?

Regards,

Mephisto

Because it's true. Proprietary iron (Sun) on the desktop is DEAD ;) As Byron Xiao so nicely pointed out, I have debated all points and substantiated them with independant research and fact.
