Les,

NATO is really going bonkers. This morning
I was watching the daily NATO briefing. They
outlined how they are bringing in 10 more B-52s
that will start dropping MK-82 500lb bombs without
lazer guidance. This of course, is the same
tactic used in 'Nam for operation "Rolling Thunder".
It was L. B. Johnson's final desperate attempt to
bomb the North Vietnamese to the negotiation table.

Interesting that a reporter noticed the change in
tactics. He asked General Shelton if this was a
new policy of "destroying Yugoslavia in order to
save it". Pesky reporters. Of course, this is
exactly the strategy at this point. Simply pulverize
the country until they cry uncle. However, the list
of countries that refused to knuckle under is big.
The question is how long NATO can continue this
policy before people start taking to the streets.
Yesterday, protesters in Greece blocked NATO troop
trains and moved road signs so that military convoys
actually ended up going the wrong direction.
