RESEARCH ALERT-Morgan bullish on Cisco <CSCO.O>
NEW YORK, April 30 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley said on
Friday analyst Chris DePuy made bullish comments on Cisco
Systems Inc. fiscal third-quarter results, which he expects to
be strong, rather than seasonally weak as the company expected.
-- DePuy "is confident" of his $0.37 a share profit
estimate for the quarter ending in April and his forecast of
4.9 percent sequential revenue growth.
-- DePuy is also generally more confident about Cisco going
forward in the second half of calendar 1999 than he was three
months ago, the firm said in a brief research note, citing
improved order visibility and the growing importance of
intranet-related projects.
-- he maintains his strong buy rating and a one-year price
target of $135.
-- Cisco shares up 3-9/16 to 112-3/4 in early trading.

Mark,

>> this has always been a know factor that Amzn plans on spending more on marketing and investing in new businesses and infrastructure this yr.
<<

Exactly. The stock sold-off on news that was already known.

What remains is that the price level was maintained by day traders and momentum speculators. I guess the fate of these stocks is in their hands now, till the next "run to e" (as Eugene likes to say).

I really have no complaint. As long as they stay in their range, the contrarian method of "selling into rallies, cover at the drops" will work just fine. Hating amzn is not a religion with me.
