Jim:

Thank you for the article and if you don't mind I plunked this from that lengthy piece.

Changes to Jubak's Picks

Add America Online (AOL)
America Online is increasingly riding the unique economics of the Internet where a crowd of users becomes a magnet for yet more users. In the last year the company has launched its ICQ service that alerts users when their friends are online. That continues the evolution of AOL from a place to check a stock quote or order a book to a community where people are spending hours chatting and e-mailing friends and acquaintances. And in that world the more individuals that sign on, the more want to join. That's one reason why the average America Online user racks up 55 minutes on the service a day -- up from 48 minutes the prior quarter. (I also don't mind that America Online added almost 2 million new members in the quarter ended in March or that the company saw advertising/electronic commerce revenue grow by 94% in the period.) I'm adding the stock to Jubak's Picks with an April 2000 price target of $184.
