The whole market has a nose bleed today. All the indicators are red. Let's just hope by Monday the investing public develops a new psyche.

In the for what it's worth dept., I read somewhere that although a split does not materially effect a stock it does effect the investor. The effect stems from several areas; Means the Co. is doing well and management is confident. Places the price of the stock within range of more investors to enable them to more easily buy 100 share blocks. Most importantly, stocks that split have been shown to appreciate an average of 8% within the first three months following the split.

8% is somewhat less than we are accustomed to but I'll take it. (G)

Don't be disappointed if we lose a few today.
