PaineWebber reiterated its "neutral"
rating on Advanced Micro Devices (AMD: news,
msgs) following the company's analysts meeting.
PaineWebber said its expects "losses for at least
the next two quarters," and said AMD won't return
to profitability until the fourth quarter, as revenue
needs to be over $800 million to achieve profitability.

AMD's K-7 microprocessor is set to launch in June. PaineWebber
analysts said their 1999 estimate for AMD is a loss of $1.25, compared
with First Call's calculation of a loss of $1.09. AMD shares rose 5/16 to
16 13/16.
