Larry and then there is Compaq who doesn't seem to have a P/E at all unless you count a negative P/E-Simply Amazing, no?

Larry "Its amazing"...what's so amazing? Dell grows much faster, and more consistently than the companies you listed..

What is your point? (with this post?)

Amazing? No. The only thing amazing is Dell's earnings growth
compared to these other companies. The 5yr CAGR in earnings is as follows.

dell 78%
hwp 20%
ibm 20%
gtw 18%
muei 0%

Now it should be clear why Dell commands a much higher PE.

cheers...

MEATHEAD

Larry,

You're easily amazed this evening.

I too am amazed that Dell is priced so low given its vastly superiour performance.

With its growth rate, profitability, ROIC, DSO, Inventory turns, or any other valuation measure you wish to analyze, it should be awarded at least double, if not triple, its current P/E.

So its current price has got both of us amazed this evening. ;-)

Ian.
