Joe -

Investing is more than mathematics, but this is largely true only in the short run. In the long run math always wins.

I don't deny there's considerable uncertainty in trying to guage USWB's long run potential for revenues and margins, but at a certain point the valuation is difficult to justify for someone who does the math. To reduce the uncertainty, it is very instructive to look at the history of other companies which rent technical labor. There have always been booms in the sector, whether it's ERP, Y2K remediation, edi, hr, gl, bla, bla, bla. But, there are not alot of good sustained long term success stories. And where you find them, they are really long term solid 20% a year type companies. The ones that fly high during a boom have always burned investors which bought in when the boom is well known to all.

I am not going to apologize about not putting people's mind at ease. That's not why I contribute and absorb information from SI - I am trying to make money. To do it effectively you need to see both sides of the argument and make your own decisions. While many people are emotionally attached to their stocks and find it difficult to absorb information contrary to their position, there are others which appreciate both sides of the story.

Rick.

P.S. Using the term "fools" probably is a bit inflammatory, so I will apologize for that. But I do feel strongly that we are operating in a market right now where alot of inexperienced, ignorant investors are placing bets based on an exciting story by the Street or the companies themselves merely to pump their stock to make cheap acquisitions. People that bought the stock from 25-40 need to understand that they were sucked in to finance USWeb's latest acquisition. Now that the acquisition is complete they are paying for getting sucked in by the marketing machine.
