No, he quit the super rock star stuff long before that. He of course kept playing music and was in the lime light with yoko from time to time. In an interview, Elton John reported that Lennon criticized him for continuing in the super star mode, and claimed to have moved on. I gained respect for Lennon knowing he wasn't stuck. I agree with some of the comments about evolving. I like what clapton has done, and I like knowing that Neil Young stayed nuts instead of trying to maintain superstardom, for example. But Sinatra, Elvis, Dylan and others embarrass me. I loved those guys when they were young and doing the beat romantic youth, breaking out of the establishment at all costs thing. When they got old they were the establishment. Nastalgia only goes so far with me.
