Marketing/business all the way. His undergraduate degree is in business, and spent most of his early career at IBM in Systems Management Marketing.

I'm sure he has picked up technical knowledge along the way--he's very bright--but he doesn't have the technical background that we've come to appreciate on the Intel board.
