I began purchasing shares yesterday and again today. A little over three years ago I was heavily invested in NetCom and UUNet. In case you don't know they were internet service providers. I brought both in the low twenties and watched them both approach $100 - all within six months. I got greedy and used the excuse of having to pay income tax on the profit, for not selling. Eventually I sold both and did make a profit - unfortuately not as large as it should have been - I got greedy.

Why am I mentioning this. Just as service provides were the darlings three years ago I believe "domain" service company's will have a similar fortune. On Wednesday night I purchased domain names for both my children. Instead of being ".com" they are ".us". Each now has there first name registered. For only $30 a year they get www.firstname.us, or whatever handle they want, for their own web site. Seems like a bargain to me.

NetNation's growth pattern mirrors Netcom's in its early days - however there is one important difference. Netcom sales were increasing 25% per quarter but they weren't profitable because of the large capital investments required at each geographical location. NetNation can service the whole world and maintain one fixed location. Therefore their profits should increase dramatically as sales improve.

This stock and those of other domain handlers will start getting noticed. I just hope the NNCI is listed on Nasdaq before that happens and that I have a lot more shares.
