I guess it is a group of "semi-related" sentences which would make sense if you could read my mind. I think you give the people too much credit for picking "their oppressors". The higher up you go the less the people matter. I suppose that the House of Rep. is closer to the people and more accountable. State Gov. more so, and so on. But the Senate and Executive are very much manipulated by the "eastern establishment". And because those two pick the Judicial, they are also in the same category. I have seen massive outpourings of public opinion stop the legislature in their tracks on unpopular legislation. It works, but not well. And the "eastern establishment" is getting there way anyhow where it counts. SR
