Re: for Dell to match the performance of IBM beating the whisper number...Dell would need to hit .18?

Yep, that's fairly close to accurate. .18 would be very tough
however... Dell would have to make a big leap somewhere in
units, ASP stability, gross margins and/or reduced OPEX.

I expect .17/shr. That's an actual range of 16.5 to 17.49 which
is a penny and pretty w i d e. Using last quarter's metrics,
1 penny equates to about 330M in top line revenue.

However, it's possible. If Dell could get gross margins near
23% and hold OPEX, I'd say it's quite do-able with revenue
somewhere in the neighborhood of 5.6B.

I think the .16 consensus is an easy lay-up. My target is
.17/shr and 5.5B in revenue... anything above that would be
a blowout in the book of meathead with a checkmark in the
cool box.

TR,, yes, but not everyone was looking for IBM to blow away earnings,, so there wasn't much built into the price, that I could see, we all exspect DELL to blow away earnings,, so DELL should run before the report,, and the numbers will say if it stays or not,, JMHO,, bry57
