victor... as you must know, I have great admiration and respect for you. I just happen, in this case, to believe that you are very WRONG! As to all those buyers you refer to.... why is all that buying reducing the relative strength and driving the price down? Am I missing something here? El

Vic--- have a great weekend!

"I wonder what those account managers must think of your belief, you know, managers
in those hundreds of institutions (1,800 of them) who have invested hundreds of millions
of dollar in COMPAQ in the last few months, and in increasing numbers in the last 8
weeks."

There may be more of them but are they holding more shares?I suggest the amount of shares held is lower. Someone has to be dumping HUGE volume to drive the price to where it is. Yes many institutions have come along as the price went to hell,,, how much of a return do you think they want? If they see a 50% pop in a year (33) do you really think most will hold waiting an iminaginary 60?? IMO they take their money and run. The millions of shares traded down hre are generally NOT on the list of those hoping to hold forevever, Even CPQ lovers (of which there are fewer now) bought for a fast trade (sorry its not working) and will bail a few points in the black,, if it takes too long they will dump even or down too...
