CMCS bids on UMG, everyone sees a threat and T goes down. T bids on UMG rumor is that someone else will out do T and T goes down. How about, T doesn't go up significantly on the 3:2 split but after it goes down. T's earnings 30% above the street est. and T doesn't go up. Armstrong may be the wizard of Telecom and T the gorilla of them all, yet right now T is R Dangerfield. Buy low and hold T is going to rock'n'roll w/ or w/o UMG. lnk

Badshah:
Here is to you: Congratulations! I really admire a person who has conviction, but don't you invest in growth stocks? I mean, the market has pretty much one insane for the last few years, and a lot of people became very wealth with growth stocks. Why do you still own a "bunch" of T stock?

All: Just got the current Business Week and to quote:

And Armstrong isn't fazed by the prospect of a counterbid offer by Comcast-even if the Philadelphia-based cable operator manages to enlist mighty backers like Microsoft Corp., or America Online Inc. to boost its standing $48 billion offer for MediaOne. "Since this of such value to us," Armstrong says, "I'm not prepared to do anything but win."
