DDR certainly has a lot of pins but isn't SLDram a narrow bus? If these efforts are starting with a clean sheet, they would review the Rambus technical lessons. Such a group could have an effect for the generation of memory beyond DRDram, particularly for non-Intel designs. If AMD (cough, cough) gains a foothold in market share, then this would be a concern.
