>>New Dell home system catalog: may 1999..6 of 7 pc's standard with zip and one with the sweet high margin zip250...zip all over, laptop zips, zip 6pk of disks.....along with ibm/zip, cpq(soon to be released zips)...we are on a role....cost cutting etc. maybe we are at bottom...imho...good luck all, see you next week...>>

Honey, what good is that when you have to send a technician not to repair the PC you just sold a customer, but to replace the friggin floppy drive. It's all about excution, IMHO. It's one thing to be a small cap company, it's another to act like it. There was a reason IOM reached $27 a share, split adjusted, back in '96, however, they failed and failed miserably.

Of course, this is just my opinion. And you know what they say, in this country assholes are like opinions, everybody got one. Oh wait, I think I got that the other way around.

Been a long day.

Got that catalog yesterday myself. I, for one, cannot believe they put that drive in as a standard on over half of the "suggestions" mentioned. Fortunately, the consumer has the right to specify at Dell. The Sony CD-RW was standard only on their $3k machine. Sony is the route I'm going when I update! Sorry.

Perhaps, it is a sweet deal for IOM, to clear out click of death inventory. Not so good for consumers. Dell doesn't give alternatives to consumers. Gateway is much more consumer friendly when it comes to choice of options. I say that Consumers are Kings! Do I hear somebody say that IOM is the king?
