Lets take a poll. Will the market hold up long enough to make it through NOVL earnings this month?

InternetWeek: "Do As Cisco Does..."

Editorial advises industry to dump NDS, Active Directory in favor of Netscape Directory Server.

Cisco's IT organization in May will deploy the Netscape Directory Server to manage access to its e-commerce site, the world's largest online revenue producer. Cisco chose the Netscape software over Novell's NDS directory and-perhaps more significantly-over Microsoft's forthcoming Active Directory.

<<I find it hard to beleive that the people who buy this software (CIO's, Net Admin's) give a damn whether they see it on tv or not (although I love some of the ideas for commercials).>>

Would you rather have a few thousand IT professionals driving demand, or 110 million users driving demand through the IT professionals at each of their companies? IT professionals that take pride in their work want to satisfy their internal customers, the end users. Novell needs to figure out a way to let the end user become their sales force (they've done the hard part, vastly superior product). Digital Me looks like an avenue, but I think there are opportunities via end users on corporate networks as well.
