Rick,

So many interesting possibilities. The S&N sale reflects the allegiance to ATIS technology without having to read much between the lines....endoscopy, orthopaedics, and wound management pretty much says it all. The endoscopy part simply may be referring to all of the necessary instruments to perform all of the procedures. The sale now consolidates and focuses S&N, while at the same time making people wonder what the money will be used for.

There are rumors about a possible ATIS buyout, and this money would allow a controlling interest to be bought at a significantly higher stock price for ATIS than the current price, although there are other factors involved for buying out than simply shareprice. I'm still not sure what to make of this at this point.

There was the comment about news to come after the close on Wednesday that doesn't involve the DG trial, and if this is true it has people thinking as to the possibilities. It alluded to significantly higher shareprices for ATIS, although I can't verify or deny any of it. I had heard some very general rumblings a few weeks ago about something else being in the works, but exactly what is anyone's guess. There are many possible types of news that could occur at this time, aside from the fact that the trial is theoretically into its 12 week countdown until the last enrollee of the 180 interim is completed(from what I hear, they are now past 180, and the drs. seem to think all is looking solid).

1. buyout in low double digits, likely by S&N if it were to occur. The problem would be that the fast rise would occur to just under the buyout price offer, but likely the chance for the huge long-term upside would be much more limited if merged into S&N
2. purchase of more ATIS shares by S&N at a higher than current price
3. new info. about cartilage that is very positive or possibly a change in the status of the trials....was stated that they were expected to begin by year's end, which obviously it is still before
4. cardiovascular strategic alliance is created, although if so this would more than likely be with a major c/v player, not S&N, and there is also the chance that some major breakthrough in c/v applications, or even gene therapy approaches, could be announced
5. changes in the current agreement with S&N that are more positive for ATIS(for 1,2, or 5, it is likely that S&N is aware of what the DG results thus far look and sound like, as well as some info about cartilage, and this would help further in knowing where to chase)
6. major brokerage house upgrade/s, as these have been down for quite some time, and most of the volume of the last 2 weeks, including the last few days, has appeared to be smaller retail(ie yesterday's 3+ million volume still had an average trade size of @950). Big time institutional involvement would only be a positive at this point, as they usually don't get overly involved in sub-5 companies anyway
7. some other type of major fundamental news, breakthroughs, or exposure...of which there could be infinite possibilities(ie new big name brought in, some new huge patent, some new findings in some other area, some other type of merger of buyout, etc.)

FWIW, it looks like the movement is only just beginning. I figured that slowly the price would begin to recover as long as bad news wouldn't appear with all of the studies, but I didn't expect recovery to happen almost instantaneously, as it almost seems to be. Granted, it could drop quickly, but somehow it looks like 5 is the next resistance point to overcome, and then it moves quickly again. Whether the rumors or realities create a gap on monday a.m. will be interesting to see.

Any thoughts, Rick, or anyone else?

Have a happy weekend, and here's to big mo'

Regards,

Marshall

Rick,

Interesting article:

iht.com

Also, if good news truly appears on wednesday that is big enough to cause this kind of advance run, there are a few we didn't discuss much. One, there could an unexpected increase in earnings for the qtr, such as from transcyte and dermagraft, and two, there could be some kind of announcement as to coverage being granted in the European countries where DG is available. So many possibilities, and still no definitive reason to say for sure any news will happen, except the fact that 1 month ago breaking 5 seemed very far away.

Interesting trading action today. Seems to have a new support point of 5 1/4 with resistance at 5 1/2, and again at possibly 6. Momentum seems to have paused for the moment, but yet 5 1/4 held strong today, so it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday.
