Tribasa backlog seen growing by $400 mln
MONTERREY, Mexico, April 26 (Reuters) - Mexican construction firm Tribasa said on Monday that its alliance with a unit of U.S. energy company Enron Corp (ENE - news) could boost its backlog of projects by some $400 million, analysts who took part in a Tribasa conference call said.

''They said that Enron could bring to Tribasa business that would boost its backlog by $400 million,'' Carlos Pena, an industry analyst with Afin Securities, said.

The company said that much of the work would be in industrial construction, the analysts said. Tribasa executives were not immediately available for further details.

Tribasa, Mexico's second-largest construction company, had a backlog of projects worth about $1.2 billion dollars at the end of 1998.

Last month Tribasa and Enron Engineering and Construction signed a strategic alliance to develop transportation, water and energy services in Latin America.
