That [PowerBook iMac] is what is described as the consumer portable, is it not? Is it the same as the P1? Or is the P1 the next generation PowerBook? As closely as I follow Apple, I'm always confused about these code names for future products.

No release date is set for the consumer portable, but it is expected soon. Whether that will be WWDC soon, MWNY soon or some other soon has yet to be determined.

However, knowing how Apple is banging on all cylinders under the hood with Champion CEO driver Steve Jobs at the wheel, and knowing that the logical imperative is to get this one out as soon as current PowerBook inventory issues are resolved it is conceivable that we may see it at WWDC on May 10.

I believe you are quite correct about the price action of the stock having an iMac like effect with the release of this new product.

IMHO this stock will be above 80 by January 2000. Perhaps even above 100. I base this observation on the timing of the OSX and G4 systems to be at MWSF; a mere guess, but with reasonable probability.

Have a happy Cinco de Mayo, and Mother's Day weekend.
