<<The initial Mexico sales figure was huge. Do you think that all that product went to just a few pharmacies? >> Perhaps some product went directly to doctors working with Schering as well. All I know is based on the sketchy information we have, many pharmacies never carried Vasomax. <<I wouldn't be aware of advertising in Mexico for any product at all. Neither would you. The fact we don't know about the advertising doesn't mean there was none.>> Given the tremendous publicity and interest in this country in oral ED medications, any publicity or advertising regarding Vasomax in our southern neighbor would most likely have been reported here. We have all been starved for any info at all about what Schering says about Vasomax. If Schering had anything to say in Mexico, it would have found its way to us. <<If the market was unimportant, why did they go for approval and the initial sales? >> It is not a question of IF the Mexican market for a relatively expensive oral ED medication is unimportant. I hope we can at least agree that Mexico is a poor country, most of whose population could not afford such drugs. This is far from an optimum market for Vasomax. As for sales, all we know is that Schering bought some product from Zonagen. There is no evidence that they pushed for sales or profits. That will come with U.S. approval. <<Your idea that they were simply gathering info for US sales makes no sense to me>> At least my idea fits the facts. I could be wrong and the explanation of why Schering did what it did in Mexico may still be unclear. What is clear is that all the advertising, marketing and publicity that Schering will do in the U.S. and western Europe was not done in Mexico. We don't know how many Mexican men tried Vasomax. We don't know what percentage had success. Mexico in no way serves as a template for how Vasomax will do here. To suggest that Vasomax will fail here due to some imagined failure in Mexico, is flawed reasoning, based on faulty premises. Good luck, Bruce
