o/tHello Fellow Chart Watchers!

This message marks both an end and a new beginning for "Chip's Charts"
coolhistory.com )

Sadly, this is the final update notification message we'll be sending for
"Chip's Charts." For the past two and a half years, I've sent these message
out every Friday night and so I'm slightly sad to see it come to an end...

So you're probably thinking "What happened?! Where did Chip go wrong? Is
he bankrupt? Under indictment? Is he being silenced by the forces of evil?
Should we start a letter-writing campaign?"

The good news is that nothing nefarious has occurred. In fact things are
actually about to get A WHOLE LOT better for everyone! Here are the changes
that are happening starting next week:

1.) The weekly commentary on "Chip's Charts" has been removed, partly
because the charts are now updated nightly and the commentary usually gets
stale by about Tuesday.

2.) The charts on "Chip's Charts" will continue to be updated nightly for
the foreseeable future and, of course, will remain free to everyone.

3.) This weekly "update notification" mailing will cease because, well,
nothing is getting updated weekly anymore. "Chip's Charts" will be
up-to-date every evening no later than 9PM Eastern time.

4.) All of the time and energy that has been going into "Chip's Charts" will
now go into our new website, StockCharts.com. Whereas "Chip's Charts" has
25 charts of various market indices and averages, stockcharts.com
will have over 600! It will also give visitors access to the most powerful
stock charting technology available on the web today allowing them to create
and save charts using just a web browser! AND, just like "Chip's Charts,"
StockCharts.com will be totally FREE!

5.) All members of this mailing list will automatically become Charter
Subscribers to "Chart Watchers Weekly," StockCharts.com's weekly summary of
market events and technical signals. In a very real sense "Chart Watchers
Weekly" is the successor to this update notification mailing and, of course,
it's FREE too.

(Note: If you don't wish to receive "Chart Watchers Weekly", just send an
email message to listserv@stockcharts.com with the text "unsubscribe
ChartWatchersWeekly" in the message body.)

6.) StockCharts.com will officially open on May 15th. However, as a new
Charter Subscriber, you will be able to visit the "Preview" version of the
site starting THIS WEEKEND! Watch for another email message from us soon
with details on how to access our preview site.

While that may sound like a lot of changes, here's THE BOTTOM LINE:
The charts on coolhistory.com will continue to be updated
every night and you will continue to receive one email a week from us packed
full of market and sector commentary. None of this will cost you a penny
and you don't need to do anything to make it happen - it's all automatic.

If you have _any_ concerns or questions, please 'r'eply to this message and
I will address them as quickly as possible.

So (sniff!) this is the last edition of this update notification message.
It has been a fun, rewarding experience for us during the past two and a
half years and, at this important milestone, we wanted to tell everyone who
has supported us so far how grateful we are.

Thanks everyone!

I hope to see you on StockCharts.com,
Chip Anderson

Russia Defiant Over Yugoslavia Oil Embargo

<< Cohen said in Washington on Thursday that he believed any oil deliveries to Yugoslavia would fall into the category of armed hostilities, demanding a stiff NATO response.

"I believe there should be an interdiction of the supplies coming and I believe that force should always be an option."

The Russian Defense Ministry echoed Ivanov's tough remarks.

"Russia is not a country that can be threatened, as Cohen is doing," said Col.-Gen. Leonid Ivashov, who heads the Defense Ministry's international cooperation department.

"If there is a political decision (to go on with the embargo), Russia will defend its interests," said Ivashov, an outspoken critic of NATO's actions. >>

Scary rhetoric.
