Hello TLC,

We could also change your message just a bit to say that the person was at the garage sale, was looking thru the stacks of collectors comics and was then shown a newspaper in which the operator of the garage sale had placed a 'joke' release in the local paper stating that he had been authorized to compile and issue a new comic. Say, just for example, a 'Kid Colt marries Brenda Star and adopts Robin". limited edition.

Now say that the person wanted to be able to 'get in on the ground floor' and make sure he had the funds on hand for when the time comes to buy, and he proceeded to sell his stock with the same outcome.

We now have a situation where a person could have taken an actual loss because he relied on 'joke' information that was printed in a source he was familiar with.
(sound familiar)

John
