Money Flow and CPQ:
Quite interesting the different money flow patterns of institutional and retail investors in CPQ. Since April 12, the first trade date after the infamous earnings warning, block trades [10,000 shares/trade or more] in CPQ have been -$400mm with 75% of the outflow occuring from April 12 through April 22. On the other hand, non-block trades
[less than 10,000 shares/trade] have been consistently positive since mid February for a total of $80mm, with more than half of the inflow occurring since the beginning of April. The decreasing outflows from institutional investors in the last few days combined with increasing inflows from retail investors may explain why in the last two weeks total flows have been positive. Again, this may suggest that we are near the bottom since the selling power appears to be waning.
As an anecdote, I have noticed increasing interest in CPQ in other SI threads discussing other beaten up stocks. Take a look at the COMS
thread, for instance.
