Rick, I think you may have missed a point made in one of the responses to my original question on that thread: techstocks.com You don't need to set folder options for every folder. Goto "Tools->Folder Option", select "View" tab, there is a button called "Like current folder". You can set a folder view to your prefer then click this button. It will set all folders using your current folder view. I just didn't read the instructions carefully enough when I first tried 98 and jumped to a paranoid conclusion. I'm reconciled with 98 and $Bill (somewhat) again. Will go back to it if I feel like it or have to for multiple monitor support. Bill is bold and slithering but he's not stupid. wily
