Good price? Maybe the charts will tell us.

Under $14 seems to represent good risk/reward, strictly based on the trading range of the past few years. The stock is acting well lately, so I'll be surprised if it goes back down there anytime soon. If we have the usual May-June weakness in tech and Kopin retains good relative strength, I might consider getting back in.

Several posters to this thread have remarked that important developments at Kopin always seem to leak out from the company. My own experience confirms this. How many times has Kopin run up for no apparent reason, only to sell off after the 'news' is publicly disclosed? It happens like clockwork with this company. Therefore, Kopin should be an ideal candidate for trading by Technical Analysis, since one principle of TA is that all known information, public or not, will necessarily be reflected in the price of the stock.

Kopin Introduces CyberDisplay 640C

kopin.com

Using a miniature lens in conjunction with an energy efficient light-emitting diode (LED) backlight, theCyberDisplay 640C presents an optical image equivalent in size to a notebook monitor.

By notebook image size, I assume they mean something like an 11" diagonal screen viewed at 18 inches. That's about double the 5.25" apparent diagonal for the 320C. Actual display size is 0.38" versus 0.24". That gains them only about 58%, so there must be some increase in magnification as well.

This is now competitive for portable web browser and similar applications where full-page display of information is desirable. The chance of getting some design wins in those markets (when they develop) should be much better with this new model, imo. They don't say when production quantities will be available, but evaluation kits are available now "for selected OEM partners".

Who knows—maybe this will even be good enough for Siemens.
