RE: Is that really the "investment" proposition, or the "trading the stock price" proposition ?

I would say that it is a proposition for the "intermediate term".

In the long term the proposition will be "can they achieve respectable Bottom Line numbers?"

The "short term" or "Day Trading" proposition is: Are there a critical mass of bulls out there still willing step in and buy at pull backs and enough momentum bulls willing to push it higher?

RE: Your proposed method is based on trading the stock price at a slow rate. It is great for minimizing effort and expenses. And also you are right on the entry price. So did you sell at 200+, or were you waiting for the breakout like everyone else ?

I sold about 30% of my position at $200. In my mind at least, AMZN hasn't really "broken out". I see it in a intermediate trading range between $200 to $100 +/- 10%. A true breakout would propel the stock to about $300. IMO.
