hio: I listened to that commentary and can recommend it. Very encouraging for CPQ longs to hear Rosen and the company talked about in that way. The commentator, who has know Rosen a long time, expects the CEO appointment will take 6 months but that Rosen will move very fast eliminating bureaucracy and simplfying and speeding up decision-making. He thinks there will be a constant stream of news and announcements from the company as the Rosen reforms take effect. He goes on to say that HWP IBM and COMPAQ have all been slow to make adjustments to the channel and he hopes that Rosen will make decisive statements about this in the next few weeks.

I listened to several other audios including the analysts questioning Rosen and his colleagues. Everything I listened to was encouraging.

It's a good site. But the bias in favour of the role of re-sellers is evident.

hlpinout,

Super CRN audio clips .... enjoyed the perspective on "Compaq Won't Sit Still" and the TechData view of CPQ & Pfieffer.

Thanks for your pointing me to them,

Michael

Nuts, I can not listen to it. A message came up about having to upgrade (?) real player and where to go. I went there and it costs $29.95. COnsidering I have to return the laptop I'm using right now in 2 days, I'm not in the mood to spend $29.95 twice.

Besides the article you pointed us to, I was _real_ interested in hearing the segment two down from Bob Faletra's editorial:

>CRN Channel EditorCraig Zarley:

>Compaq To Police Internet Prices

For about 3 weeks I have been keeping an eye on pricing and availability on Compaq notebooks. Sometimes I call when a price seems ***way*** off or is listed as not being available. When I have called CPQ [IR and elsewhere] about other things, I have shared my findings. I have also sent information via the feedback section on their web site. Given that the feedback to Compaq is one way--they never respond to comments--I'd like to hear that segment.
