Greg,

You have it dead wrong. DELL is up about 30% in the last hundred days. Not bad! Check it out!

Isn't this about the same as what you said back in the latter part of 1997? Don't quote me on it but I think you said something similar then.

Greg, Dell reached successive high from Jan. 29-Feb. 1st, or thereabouts....That was exactly 3 months (not 4 months from today)..you forgot to change your clock to spring forward <g>..

Well, we are certainly all entitled to our opinion, so I can't quibble about your prediction...We'll see where it goes...

BTW- I give you a B for your previous predictions...for you foresaw Dell struggling in the 1st half of this year, but you were calling for Dell to be dead money, I believe, all the way back in December, so you were about six weeks earlier....Close, a cigar, but not all of it..

Greg, it's really only 3 months... (1)feb (2)mar (3)apr.

If I had bailed out every time Dell 'appeared' to be dead
money, I would have looked for greener pastures at exactly
the wrong time and lost a fortune.

Two recent periods come to mind...

Jul 25, 1997 to Jan 12, 1998
Beginning price 10.84, Ending price 10.90
Appreciation, zzilch
Time elapsed, 5 and a half months

Jul 17, 1998 to Nov 30, 1998
Beginning price 29.3, ending price 30.4
Appreciation, not worth mentioning
Time elapsed, 4 and a half months

Currently 3 mos... what, me worry? The upcoming confluence of fundamental, and current technical factors make Dell a screaming
buy at this time... especially for traders with an intermediate
term horizon of a few months.

I can't believe all the so called chart experts out there
haven't even mentioned Dell's current OBVIOUS price pattern
formation and what it suggests. Anyone care to consult the Pring manual??

GREG - you've talked me into buying more on monday! it's too cheap to pass up...and it is going up from here after this long CONSOLIDATION ... you are right about something IMO - the analysts'
negative pc industry hype has kept it down LONG ENUF! now it is time to get rolling again! cheers, GR

<<I will be real surprised if DELL made it past it's old 52 week high by fall. >>

Greg: I expect DELL to deliver better than expected sales and earnings in the next few weeks. My back of the envelope calculations tell me that we could see sales rising atleast 45% (y/y) and earnings per share come in around .18 ...Combine this with optimistic forward guidance and you have fuel for a run-up. I will be surprised if DELL does not blow by its 52 week high in under 2 months. I listened to DELL's CFO talk on the ML conf. call for over an hour. This company is visionary and has some MAJOR new growth initiatives underway in BIG markets (like enterprise storage). DELL will continue to be my largest holding going into earnings (unless CMGI or AWRE have a big run-up in the next few weeks).

Lets let DELL prove that they are the next DELL. The ball is in their court. I tend to agree with Kumar's recent comments about our favorite company down in Austin. Get ready for a surprise on the upside.

Best Regards,

Scott
