You mentioned:

So when do we hit the long-awaited thermal limit? This seems to be getting close, or at least close to what I recall everyone predicting a year or two ago.

Has the consensus changed? If anyone can summarize or point me to some relevant physics, I'd be interested. I only remember that the details have mostly to do with the grain size, distribution thereof, how many grains/bit, etc. Any info appreciated.

It sounds to me as if these requirements will continue to benefit HTCH's greater technological sophistication. Correct? When HTCH refers to suspending Femto heads being orders of magnitude more difficult than Pico, is this an exxageration? Personally, looking at even the size of a Pico head, its awefully hard to see how the things can fly, even without the added weigth of a suspension. And then Femto surface area appears virtually nonexistant.

By the way, Mark Oliver and I are happy Dragon software voice recognition users. Anyone else? Very memory intensive programs. Uses lots of RAM, takes awhile to load and I would guess must access the disk pretty often. Would guess that a 7200 rpm drive would benefit these programs which are probably still not great for a good typist, but are for someone like me. -Z
