Welcome to the thread Kendall.

the most valuable use of this thread would be to follow the suggestion to post strategies and ideas which have enabled people to succeed in this tough enterprise. All too often this does not occur. Partly this is the case for reasons of anonymity, and partly some feel that by sharing ideas that work they will no longer work as well.

I would love to have people share their trading strategies on this thread, as well. However, this is not a realistic hope.

Successful short term (intraday) trading strategies are few and far between and are constantly changing. A successful trading system is a daytraders holy grail. Many successful systems cannot be shared without reducing the profitability of the system.

I would like to see participants on this thread share all of their tips and experiences to help others, without sacrificing their proprietary trading systems to others. Helpful topics might include dealing with the challenges of getting fills in a fast market, effective uses of ECN's, the strengths/weaknesses of various brokers, etc.

By the way, you sound like you like the executions from Brown and Company. Could you give us some examples of your experiences with their executions. How long do they take? Is this with active stocks, or slower moving stocks? Market orders, or limit orders?

Thanks,
-Eric
