Some reading on MICHEAL MURPHY, interesting what he had to say on
CNBC about the internet, and specially AMZN.

Michael Murphy, California Technology Stock Letter (CSCO, LU, COMS, FORE, ORCL, IFMX, DELL, CPQ, AOL, EGRP, EBAY, AMZN)

Just came back from H&Q Technology Conference

Looks like most of the growth will be in the build out of the Internet

Traffic doubling every 100 days which means it grows 10X in a year and 1000X in three years

Winners will be companies providing Fiber Optics, Servers, Switches, and Data Bases

Large Multi-Billion Dollar companies can still grow 40-50% a year

Internet membership isn't close to saturation so can continue at this pace for some time

Obvious beneficiaries would be CSCO, LU, COMS

FORE is another player, who was recently recommended on the Stock Letter, which was just sold

ORCL and IFMX would also be winners and their price has been somewhat depressed by unwarranted Y2K concerns

PC makers also will benefit. 6 weeks ago there were concerns about PC sales, but sales are up 18% for the year. In that space:

DELL Good Company

CPQ Cheap Stock

Internet Content Companies?

AOL Makes money, so should do OK

EGRP Also makes money

EBAY Makes money, but many are starting auction sites

AMZN Should change name to Amazon.org. Doesn't see how they will make money. Covered short position yesterday and are looking for another opportunity to short

Many Internet companies don't make money and when market breaks these companies may be in trouble. Those making money can finance their expansion
