Adolf Lundin in Sudan or not? Energy Minister Welcomes More Foreign Companies' Investments

[My note: Sudan News Agency seems to believe that the two Canadian companies IPC (Lundin Oil) and Talisman are one and the same company. SUNA names IPC but also refers to the Consortium and the Bentiu area]

Khartoum, May 2 (SUNA)- Energy and Mining Minister Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz has renewed his ministry's readiness to encourage different companies and countries to invest in Sudan in the fields of energy and mining.

This came during his meeting at the ministry with Chairman of the Canadian (IPC) Company which is operating at Bentio area among the Consortium companies' group.

Meanwhile, the minister discussed progress of work at the oil fields, hoping that more Canadian companies will invest in Sudan and that the bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Canada will witness further strengthening.

Chairman of the Canadian company reviewed at the meeting outcome of his tour to the sites of his company's work in the south, indicating that the preliminary surveys carried out by the company were encouraging.

He expressed his appreciation of progress of work at the operation sites and prevalence of security at these oil production areas.
