Robert, while I find myself wanting to agree with this view, especially as neatly phrased as it is, there is just one minor hitch; NATO has already failed! Kosovo has already been ethnically cleansed! All that's left now is posturing and spin.

And don't forget, NATO's military advisers predicted this failure. That means that either the leadership is composed chiefly of morons who are incapable of following sound advice, or it was never about saving anyone from anything. Personally, I'm not yet ready to admit that we're led by idiots, so I lean toward the second, more cynical explanation. I think it's more about NATO power-mongering and world economics than anything else.

But you know, it really doesn't matter. Whatever the reasons behind all of this, it's a nasty, ugly, dangerous situation, and no good can possibly come of it.
