I did not step OUT of the tree, you mere mortal you. I am not a hamadryad. I am a simple dryad, which means I live in the vicinity of the tree. 'Twas you folks came and disturbed my peaceful haunt, and roared and leaped about and shed your silly clothes and displayed your hairy chests and trampled all the grass and polluted the air with your cries and the ground with what I am too polite to mention... Now, if you only had cute faunlike legs, and knew how to pipe a tune, that might have been another story.. Beech Dryad, and Proud of It!!
