Musings on how to play this week in ASTN I'm flattered you ask my opinion, as I'm new to this stock as well, but I'll give you some answer that may help you decide what to do. Basically you have an Exchange technology consulting group which is comprised of all kinds of Legal, Financial, Telecommunication, Math, Computer Technology, Marketing talents, who leverage their capability for the benefits of any foreign or domestic trading system, as well as Internet Trading/Transaction Technology. Now this happy band of experienced geniuses have a pet in-house project which after 2 years of waiting has finally been approved for exclusive implimentation. So you have to ask yourself, did you buy this Consulting group which may dramatically increase their leads because of their new trading system, or are you buying just the new trading system potential, or both? The part of you that's investing in the July 1st Trading system should keep a core holding thru that period, and can attempt to time ASTN's stock with other money as it bases and surges thru this period. The part of you that's investing in the consulting company, should also keep a core holding as inevitable deals are signed, but trying to time these events, especially bases on rumors that usually are started by other investors, and not company insiders, is simply impossible to do. Bottom line is this; hold a core position in ASTN at least thru July and possibly thru next year! if you want to try to time ASTN with the rest of your position, then I wish you luck in doing so, because it is a very difficult and distracting endevour which I will shamelessly try to do, and post my timing on this thread for all to scrutinize. Maybe you should follow advice I gave a friend recently who wanted to sell some of his big winners, in order to play something new. I told him, if you expect your winners to keep on winning, then sell your losers to raise money, and leave the winners be. If the winner keeps running you'll kick yourself for selling it, and if it falls, what the hell, you were way ahead anyway. Selling losers is always better to raise money because even if they have not already recovered during this current market rally, they probably won't do it any time soon and why wait till year end when everyone will be selling their losers for tax losses, and you'll probably end up getting that much less for them.
