From Hoovers Company Capsule. Read last line. e.Digital (formerly Norris Communications) makes a new generation of digital audio recording devices that use "flash memory" instead of analog tape. The company's products include a handheld recorder, a link that allows recording onto a PC's hard drive, and interchangeable data-storage cartridges that are not affected by magnets, X-rays, or temperature. The company no longer focuses on marketing its Flashback products to users. Instead, e.Digital now targets original equipment manufacturers and sells them its existing products or develops new ones based on its proprietary technology. Products are being distributed under the Sanyo private label in Europe.
