After the huge jump in crude, the surprising thing is that prices are not more volatile still.. As with the OSX sharp, brief corrections in crude are a virtual certainty. This should not surprise anybody.

Venezeulan Cheating ?

...per Andre's question

{{ Agreed, prices have been volatile for a while, but the drop from $18.80+ at 10:00 to $18.10 at around 12:00 is scary to me. }}

{{ what caused such a sharp drop at mid-day? }}

...technical lack of short covering left, initial spate of profit taking and the leak on the known Venezeulan cheating that will show up in the ''JUNE" compliance reports - by the ''Great American'' the inimitable Lawrence Kudlow !

...if you think that was anything - just wait (VBG) !

Andre - no problem; I can appreciate your point.

ie: {{ Now a note to the "belligerents" on this thread: You all have proved your value with good quality posts in the past, so why lowering yourselves to even responding one another?}}

Quite simply it has to do with ''Natural Selection'' and the ''Law of the Jungle''.

When the Chihuahua's of the World, get a little cocky and think they can come down off the porch to play with the ''Bad Dogs'' who live (and live very well - by the way) by running fast and biting hard - they need to be bit, shaken by the scruff of their neck and chased back onto the porch - where they belong.

Sorry, but sometimes "Dog Fights'' aint a pretty sight ...

Run Fast & Bite Hard !

Ps - fwiw: If anyone could read the private messages I am getting - you would think my repsonses are mild...

This is NOT to say all the private messages are negative, actually I respect a few significant posters who wish to keep their support anonmyous - no problemo....

I ''aint'' here for tea & crumpets (that's for you Secret Squirrel) - popularity contests don't make anyone no stinkin $.
