Network question, ANYONE?, 10Bt.

Can I connect my 486 w/ISA NIC with my new one w/PCI NIC using Null
Crossover cable without hub? (RJ45), same question using BNC connectors? Or will I need identical NIC's, (say ISA's), on both computers, ( don't have PCI on 486 ),or
could a HUB be used for different NIC's with RJ45?

Can't seem to find answers in Tom's Hardware Guide or Scott Mueller's
Upgrading & Repairing PC's.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Regards, /jw
