Madera International Releases Revenue Figures for the Fourth Quarter of Its 1998-1999 Fiscal Year That Ended March 31st
CORAL GABLES, Fla., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Madera International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: WOOD - news) announced today that unaudited revenues for the fourth and last quarter of its 1998-1999 Fiscal Year that ended March 31st, 1999, totaled USD$ 2.6 Million, bringing total revenue for the year to just over USD$ 5 Million. These just released revenue figures, that will be audited and filed over the next 30 days, make the 1998-1999 Fiscal Year the best ever for the Company in terms of revenue and profits, evidence once again to the complete turnaround afforded the Company at the hands of present management that has been in place since only June of 1996.

Ramiro Fernandez-Moris, CEO of WOOD, stated, ''Management is very satisfied with the results obtained thus far. We see these figures as a reward to our cumulative efforts and believe them to be only a preview of good things to come. The Company is finally today in a positive position to grow substantially over the coming years with solid revenues and profits as a base to the expanded marketing of our new lines of environmentally friendly and diversified products. Initial figures for the month of April from the sale of these new products demonstrate the enormous potential that these products represent to the Company's total bottom line. Once our advertising program for the Madera Herbs is launched, which is expected by July, these initial estimates show that the herbal business could very well surpass revenues from the sale of timber related products, serving to potentially double total revenues during the next two or three quarters at least.''

Madera is a wood products company involved in the environmentally sound harvesting of tropical hardwood products and herbal dietary supplements and the exportation of the products derived from Brazil and Peru into the U.S. and Caribbean markets. Madera's fully-owned subsidiaries, Madera International Environmental, Inc., and Madera Herbs, are active in stewardship positions in several programs dedicated to Helping To Preserve The Amazon Rainforest, these programs are described in the subsidiaries' websites at www.maderaintl.com and www.ownatree.com.
