Suggest you check with Father Gregory for pronunciation (if for nothing else). Naxos is a Greek word.

If it is to be pronounced as a Greek word, the "x" is chi (as in the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi), with no direct equivalent English sound. Comes out like the "ch" in Yiddish. The sound in "shush, now," except in the throat instead of the hard palate. A voiceless velar fricative, in phonological terms. (Also the sound often made in hacking up something to spit or otherwise to get rid of...) (Also a voiceless version of the sound one might make while being strangled...)
