running $20k to $100k in 3 months 1/2-time is pretty useful ! :-)

I really think 20K -> 100K is pretty easy to do. 5mm to 25mm is another proposition
entirely. Beyond that, I'm guessing it must be almost impossible unless you are in
offshore accounts.

Michelle,

I can't seem to do this unless I pick a long 5 bagger by luck. Guessing the stock direction seems difficult to me.

I assume the you your comment about 5mm to 25 mm brings in the problem of affecting the stock price during a trade??

Glenn

The taxes aren't a problem if can sustain that 70%/month rate, you pay them at the end of the year after another month.

If you're able to consistently make good calls the problems are really only emotional, once you are trading a fortune relative to your recent experience you tend to choke, and liquidity of the stock you're trading, the effect your trading has on it's price, the same problem the big funds have. But on AMZN, it's pretty liquid, I think. Someone who watches the trades more closely would know. However, I know a few people who make terrific gains on a regular basis trading the S&P500, which is about the most liquid vehicle, and you could grow to that level I think, using the same techniques.

michelle: offshore accounts...no, my dear...a very large 401K rolled into an IRA is much nicer. :-)

Michelle,

I really wonder about that. My current trading is really just playing and practice. I want to see if I can get good results consistently. After that we'll see whether the method can work on a larger scale.
