What you said above may be true most of the time, I don't know. However, I am fairly sure your statement above has not been written in stone without some qualifiers.

I am interested in seeing the ATHM price and short interest relationship after the XCIT / ATHM merger has been completed. I think short interest will decrease and price will increase. This is opposite to what you said above.

Do you mean to filter the data, so that your statement is true if I filter the data and use a ten or fifty day moving average of price / short interest then they may possibly track?
