ecman,
Interesting link in that the writer has picked 10 dogs as his potential gain stocks and call the 10 best market performers overpriced. He notes the cyclicals will prevail but most market professionals disagree with that idea because the individuals are taking charge of the market more and more. The individuals that drive the markets want the leaders not the dogs. The dogs of the dow strategy worked for 30 years but doesn't work now. The money managers are stuck in the cyclicals while the techs are cleaning their collective clocks. Last weeks tech wreck was weaker than the previous one and the technical indicators that many follow seem to indicate the sell off in techs is over for now. A new hot tech sector is emerging to partially displace the current hot area. Does the writer really think we will sell our E*T, the hottest brokerage stock of the decade to buy stock in a bowling alley? I would sum up the content of the link you provided with this. Luck and timing fade away but stupid lasts forever.

"overpriced"? that only speaks about ETrade's SUCCESS.
winner companies are always "overpriced", the market is willing to pay a HIGHER PRIZE for leadership and success.
you would never have bought DELL, MSFT, AOL, AMZN, YHOO, EGRP, etc if it were for valuation.
MSFT has been "overvalued" since 1988 and look at it now.
