I had cable modem from Nov 4, 1998 to Nov 9, 1998
5 days. The local cable company has just 69 people on the total
system. But then they connected to the INTERNET via one T1 line.
At times it was very fast, at times very slow and at time I
could not even get on SI
I had a long talk with the manager !
We both agreed that the T1 line was too weak a link to the
internet and it was too expensive for the cable company to
increase the capacity.
Conclusion: Cable modem went very fast until it hit the T1
bottle neck.
Got my $100 deposit back.
ADSL coming July 1999 !
