Tenchsatsu - Re: "It's really interesting to see that Intel already forsees a quick drop in processor prices.

Remember Intel's objective - to convert 50 or 75% Pentium II to Pentium III by Q3 and 90% by Q4 of this year.

Dropping the prices is the way to do that.

Don't forget - $300 is still $75 ABOVE Intel's "approximate" ASPs for the past 4 or 5 years.

If $300 is the BULK of the Pentium III business and Intel can still average $100 FOR THE Celerons, that still averages out to $200 ASP - assuming equal volumes.

Toss in those $700+ 600/667 MHz Pentium IIIs and a couple million Pentium III Xeons at $755 - $3500, and you have Intel holding - perhaps INCREASING - their $225 ASP.

Looking for Celeron, PII, PIII, AMDK6 performance #'s.

Has anyone seen a benchmark that compares these chips' performance to each other?

Thanks in advance.
